Open House 2012

Welcome to the SBOS Open House!  We're very exicted that you have been admitted to our master's or doctoral program, and very much look forward to meeting you.  We're planning on this being fun, informative, and exciting as you meet the faculty, students, and staff that will be working with you during your time at CGU.  As a special treat, we invite you to attend our bonus events, such as a screening of a new movie illustrating the principles and latest findings from positive psychology, a student barbecue, and our annual Claremont Symposium on Applied Social Psychology!

Please RSVP to John LaVelle (John.LaVelle@cgu.edu) if you will be joining us for Open House 2012!

Claremont Symposium on Applied Social Psychology
Every year we hold an annual conference here at Claremont --  the Claremont Symposium on Applied Social Psychology -- and it has been ongoing for more than 20 years. The conference theme changes year to year, and this year, it is concerned with narrative and metaphor. The title of the conference is “Warring with Words: Narrative and Metaphor in Domestic and International Politics." We thought it might be an interesting theme in this year's run up to the election.

Click here for more information about the symposium.  The symposium is free for admitted students, but you need to RSVP in advance to John.LaVelle@cgu.edu.
