Teaching Interests and Areas of Expertise

The impact of social and cultural discourse and "non-market" institutions on business and markets

Professor Tchalian received his Ph.D. from UCLA and his MBA from UCLA's Anderson School of Management and has also taught at both places. He most recently designed and taught graduate and undergraduate courses at the USC Marshall School of Business and Viterbi School of Engineering as well as California State University, Channel Islands, focusing on management, strategy and professional communication. Professor Tchalian has received grants and won awards at USC for innovative course design and technology use.


Professional Activities

Professor Tchalian has consulted with Fortune 1000 firms while at the Monitor Group and worked extensively there and elsewhere with firms and executives in a direct capacity, helping them align managerial goals with long-term strategic initiatives. He also leads courses occasionally at the Business Literacy Institute and is a member of Duke Corporate Education's GLRN (Global Learning Resource Network).
