Registration Holds   

OVERVIEW          

Students who have a hold on their account will not be able to register for the effective semester (term).  Academic departments have access to each student's hold related information. Or,
students can call the office associated with the types of holds
listed below.  View holds on your student portal account.

TYPES OF HOLDS

  • Provisional hold - a document was missing or incomplete from the time of your admission and must be turned in to the Admissions Office before you can register for your second semester.  To inquire, call the Admissions staff at (909) 621-8069 or email admiss@cgu.edu.
  • Past Due Balance hold - you have a balance due on your student account and must make complete payment before you can register for any future semester. To inquire, call the Student Accounts Office at (909) 607-2613 or email student.accounts@cgu.edu.
  • Out of Time hold - when your time to degree has expired, you will be prevented from registering until you complete a request for an extension of your time. To access the request form, click here.
  • Insurance hold - (for international students only) You must be current in your health insurance coverage. If you have this hold, you must show proof of health insurance coverage to  Nusha Shishegar, the International Student Coordinator.  Email her at nusha.shishegar@cgu.edu .
  • T-Course hold - (for doctoral students only) You will see a hold for the semester by which you must complete the T-Course.  It will be removed as you complete the T-Course.  If you are attempting to register for the semester in which you must complete the T-Course, please submit an email to: tndy@cgu.edu requesting the hold be removed so you may complete your registration.  Please include the following information in the email:  your name, student ID#, semester for which you are enrolling, and the T-Course number for which you are planning to enroll.

VIEWING HOLDS                     

  1. Access the CGU Student Portal at https://my.cgu.edu  (or click the link above) and sign on under My CGU Login in the upper left corner.  It’s easy to do; use the same username and password as your CGU email account.
  2. Click “Student Holds” in the middle of your “Student Home” section.
  3. Click on the individual hold(s) to view details and instructions to rectify it.
