Online Registration     

All Politics and Policy students will register for the Summer '06 & Fall '06 semesters online via the Student Portal.   Use the link above to access the portal.

PRE-ADVISEMENT IS A REQUIREMENT FOR YOU TO REGISTER ONLINE. PLEASE MEET WITH YOU ADVISOR OR SEEK ADVISEMENT VIA EMAIL FROM YOU ADVISOR AND DISCUSS YOUR COURSES PRIOR TO REGISTERING ONLINE

If you (Politics and Policy student) wish to audit a course or enroll in an independent study, you will need to process these requests through the academic department.

*Students who register for classes outside Politics and Policy or plan to audit or enroll in an independent study need to download the registration form, complete it, obtain approval and submit form to your academic department for processing. Refer to General / Offline Registration Information below.

 Online Registration Deadlines
 
  • Summer 2006 Registration Period: April 21 - May 15.
  • Summer 2006 Change in Registration Period (a.k.a. Add/Drop):
    • Regular session classes: begins when the student is initially registered and ends May 30.
    • Mod 1 classes: begins when the student is initially registered and ends May 22
    • Mod 1B classes: begins when the student is initially registered and ends July 3
    • Mod 2 classes: begins when the student is initially registered and ends July 17
  • Fall 2006 Registration Period: April 21 - August 4*
    (* any registration after August 4 will incur a $130 late registration fee)
  • Fall 2006 Change in Registration Period (a.k.a. Add/Drop):
    • Regular session classes: begins when the student is initially registered and ends September 11**
    • Mod 1 classes: begins when the student is initially registered and ends September 5**
    • Mod 1B classes: begins when the student is initially registered and ends October 30**
    (** any changes made after the respective dates will incur a $130 late change in registration fee)

 Registration Restrictions
 
  • Registration for some courses may be restricted to students of that program for the first two weeks of the open registration period. After May 4, 2006 the courses will be open for all CGU students for registration.
 Withdrawal from Courses
 
  • If you need to withdraw from all of your courses at CGU, you must submit a completed change in registration form to your academic department. Do not drop your courses online.

 Auditing Courses
 
  • You may audit a course with the instructor's approval.
  • You may audit courses if you are enrolled in Doctoral Study or Continuous Registration.

 Continuous Registration
 
  1. Ph.D. students who have completed their unit requirements must enroll for Doctoral Study and pay the Doctoral Study fee each semester (PP499) until all requirements for the degree have been completed, including submission of the approved dissertation to the Office of Admission and Records.
  2. Master’s students who have completed their unit requirements should register for Continuous Registration and pay the Continuous Registration fee each semester (PP400M) until all requirements for the degree have been completed, including successfully defending your Master’s Research Paper.

 Pending Registrations
 
  • Your online registration will be pending until August 4th, 2006. If you initially register after August 4th, 2006 you will be assessed a $130.00 late registration fee. You will be able to modify your existing enrollment without incurring a late fee until September 11th, 2006.
  • If your academic advisor feels it is necessary to make adjustments to your schedule, they will contact you and require you to make the necessary changes.
 Prerequisites
 
  • All Politics and Policy courses will have prerequisite requiring students to be enrolled in the Politics and Policy department from April 21st, 2006 until May 5th, 2006. After this time most Politics and Policy courses will have open enrollment for all CGU students.
  • To view prerequisites for all courses please visit the course schedule inside http://my.cgu.edu. If you wish to register for one of these classes and you do not meet the prerequisites please contact the Politics and Policy department.
 Independent Studies
 
  • To enroll for an independent study course you must contact the Faculty member, obtain departmental approval, and receive a permission number which is required for registration. Please use a Registration Form or Change Registration Form to accomplish this. Forms are located at http://www.cgu.edu/register.
