International and monetary economics, political economy, and economic policy
Thomas Willett is the Dean of the School of Politics and Economics, Director of the Claremont Institute for Economic Studies and the Horton Professor of Economics in the Department of Economics, Claremont Graduate University and Claremont McKenna College. Areas of specialization include international and monetary economics, political economy, and economic policy, international financial crises and public choice or political economy analysis of national and international economic policies. A major facet of his professional activity has been to improve the dialogue between economists and political scientists. He is the Director of the Claremont Institute for Economic Policy Studies, and former head of the International Research Department at the U.S. Treasury.
