Biography
Rebecca Tomasini earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from the Smith College and a Master’s Degree in Education and Community Development from Claremont Graduate University. She also received a MA in Renaissance Studies from the University of London. While in New York, Rebecca was an equity research assistant in the telecom sector with Goldman Sachs, an assistant vice president with Deutsche Bank where she helped to develop the marking program for Deutsche Bank's institutional investor products, a Director of Development for the internet start up eMarketplaces and a Senior Associate working on structuring strategic ventures for Cushman and Wakefield. Rebecca was an award winning High School English teacher working with at risk English Learners in The Montebello Unified School District for 6 years. She developed a successful reading intervention program for 9th and 10th grade English Learners, chaired her school's WASC Curriculum and Assessment committee, mentored new teachers and developed and led numerous professional development programs. Her advocacy and practice earned her the California Association of Bilingual Education's Teacher of the Year Award in 2002. Rebecca has further developed her expertise in curriculum and instruction as an adjunct professor and lecturer at Claremont Graduate University and sits on their Teacher Education advisory board. Rebecca is also a consultant to Hawaii's Department of Education where she trains and coaches schools leaders and teachers at underperforming public schools. As the Deputy Director of the School Achievement Data Team Rebecca’s primary role is to oversee the training and support for ZOOM! Data Source and develop a statewide teacher and school leader training program, which includes both technical and data driven curriculum and instruction training and support.
