Commencement 2009

     
Welcome to all the parents, children, relatives, and friends that will be joining us for commencement this Saturday May 16th, 2009.  We are providing some useful information here that may help you navigate CGU and arrive at the commencement ceremony with ease and on time.

Please note that there will be several other schools from Claremont Graduate University participating in the commencement ceremony and not only SPE graduates.
 

 

  
RECEPTION LOCATION

The SPE  Graduation Reception will be held in the Harper Hall Courtyard immediately after commencement (right outside the CGU President’s office – 150 E. 10th st.


COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY LOCATION

Commencement for the school of politics and economics will be held at the Mudd Quadrangle north of the Honnold-Mudd Library.  The quadrangle is located at the corner of 10th Street and Dartmouth Avenue.  For a map of the Claremont University Consortium, all the Claremont Colleges, click on this link for a pdf map.  The Mudd-Quadrangle is identified by an F which is approximately left of middle on the campus map.

PARKING

There is currently no restriction on parking.  Most people attending the ceremony and reception park along the local streets as well as those on campus.  You are however encouraged to arrive at least an hour in advance in order to avoid parking congestion.  It is not uncommon to walk several blocks to the ceremony.


MISCELLANEOUS INFO

If for some reason you need to find a grocery store or supermarket, to buy last minute gifts such as flowers for instance, there are several choices close to the campus.
