Activist Odilia Romero
Centro Binacional Para el Desarrollo Indígena Oaxaqueño
Binational Front of Indigenous Organizations which seeks to create bridges between immigrant-led organizations and mainstream academic, economic, and political institutions in both Mexico and the United States. Participate in strategy meetings in both countries to plan and implement economically benefical programs.
Responsible for the management of human rights non-profit, centered on the indigenous communities of Mexico and the immigrant Diaspora.
Leadership development for indigenous migrants with a focus on women, youth.
Supervise the organizers of health fairs and parenting workshops for Oaxacan indigenous. Coordinate community dialogues between Home-Town Associations and their counterparts in Mexico.
Outreach, handle logistics, and develop programming for gatherings focused on leadership development for transnational organizers from around the world.
In 2006 Reciepient of Latin American Studies Association Award Grant - to coordinate a research project on indigenous migrants and transnational movements with academics and activistist from the Frente Indigena de Organizaciones Binacionales, UCLA, and Colegio de la Frontera Norte.
