As Deputy Chief Investment Officer of DoubleLine, Jeffrey J. Sherman oversees and administers the company’s Investment Management sub-committee and coordinates and implements policies and processes across the investment teams.

Sherman also serves as lead portfolio manager for multi-sector and derivative-based strategies for the company, which is an investment management firm and investment adviser with $140 billion in assets under management. Sherman is also a member of DoubleLine’s Executive Management and Fixed Income Asset Allocation Committees.

Prior to joining DoubleLine in 2009, Sherman served as a Senior Vice President for TCW and worked as a portfolio manager and quantitative analyst focused on fixed income and real-asset portfolios.

Before TCW, Sherman taught statistics and mathematics at the University of the Pacific and Florida State University. For many years he taught Quantitative Methods for Level I candidates in the CFA LA/USC Review Program.

Sherman holds a bachelor’s in Applied Mathematics from the University of the Pacific and a master’s in Financial Engineering from Claremont Graduate University. He is a CFA charterholder.

In 2018, Money Management Executive named Sherman as one of “10 Fund Managers to Watch” in its annual special report. Sherman is a frequent contributor to CNBC, Yahoo Finance, and other media outlets. He can be heard regularly on his podcast The Sherman Show (@ShermanShowPod) featuring guest interviews and insights into DoubleLine’s views.

Sherman joined the CGU Board of Trustees in 2020.
