Reporting directly to the Drucker School of Management Associate Director of Programs, the Assistant Director of Programs and Student Life is responsible for supporting the portfolio of Drucker School programs including the MAM, MBA (both full and part time), EMP, MSFE, and MSMA degrees. In addition, the Assistant Director will provide leadership and supervision of Drucker student life initiatives which include oversight of the Drucker School Student Association (DSSA), Student Advisory Council (SAC), and student clubs.
Because of the small, interwoven nature of the School, the Assistant Director of Programs and Student Life will work closely with staff from student services, recruitment and admissions, marketing, and career services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Support the planning, coordination, implementation, evaluation and reporting of all programs listed above
- Collaborate with faculty to identify the needs of the programs
- Support recruitment and admissions by conducting interviews for candidates of Drucker School programs
- Assist the Associate Director with scheduling classes based on student interest and faculty availability, and help with generating adjunct and overload contracts
- Plan and participate in student networking trips domestically and internationally
- Work with the Associate Director to identify adjunct and overload faculty and manage these relationships
- Provide administrative support for special Drucker School initiatives such as the California Police Chiefs Executive Leadership Institute
- Work with students and administrators in partnership programs to ensure their success
- Evaluate market trends to identify opportunities for enhancing programs
- Work with the Drucker Office of Career Strategy to identify opportunities for student growth in order to ensure opportunities for student success are maximized – this includes leading or supporting many student-centered activities such as guest speakers, workshops, site visits, and projects
- Manage Drucker School Student Association (DSSA) including direct oversight of the DSSA president to help bridge the connection between students’ needs/wants, student life, and Drucker School outcomes
- Provide direct oversight to the Drucker Student Advisory Council and Drucker Student Clubs
- Be familiar with the policies that guide decision making at Claremont Graduate University
- Build and maintain strong relationships with faculty and staff at the Drucker School and Claremont Graduate University to support the goals of the University and Drucker School
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of CGU’s mission
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Individual must possess knowledge, skills and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree desired, Master’s degree preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and ability. Minimum three years’ experience in professional management in the private or not for profit sectors. Preference given for experience working with students in a graduate level academic institution. The regular hours for this position are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may vary due to needs of the College or department. Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and meet CGU’s authorized driver’s requirements.
