The Digital Content Producer supports the Getty Leadership Institute at Claremont Graduate University (GLI at CGU) brand by creating, producing, and posting high quality digital products, including curriculum-based and promotional materials for GLI at CGU’s executive education programs and initiatives. Directs global social media marketing initiatives in accordance with the GLI’s pedagogy, curriculum, and communications strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Produces and manages digital products and online content for GLI at CGU. Acts as HTML programmer for GLI@CGU website and online learning sites, videographer and editor, photographer, graphic designer, and interface manager for all online initiatives. Reviews program evaluations and makes updates and strategic recommendations to the digital content and delivery, accordingly.
  2. Acts as a key member of GLI at CGU’s programmatic planning team. Manages the accounts for cloud and software licensing and subscriptions, purchases graphic/audio/video equipment and tools, and solicits in-kind services and equipment that supports GLI programs.
  3. Identifies online enhancement opportunities and grows IT based relationships internally and externally. Researches new technologies, web-based media, and social networking strategies as they affect e-learning and dissemination opportunities. Identifies and implements e- learning and social networking innovations for GLI at CGU.
  4. Develops and implements a social media and online marketing strategy to promote GLI at CGU programs, initiatives, and brand. Actively reviews online analytics and makes changes to marketing efforts accordingly. Creates promotional videos.
  5. Designs templates and supports program faculty, consultants, and collaborative partners in developing digital curriculum materials. Produces and/or edits videos for curriculum development. Trouble-shoots and provides on-call online support to various users during peak program periods.
  6. Assesses CRM/CMS and other data management needs for GLI at CGU and selects software tools to meet those needs.
  7. Serves as a key contact in the Claremont Office and liaison with other CGU departments. Directs student workers in regularly updating the CRM/CMS database, and assisting in office support activities in the Claremont office.
  8. Perform other essential duties and tasks specific to the position.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Remains in contact with GLI at CGU alumni, faculty, and advisors.
  2. Networks with persons with similar interests and skills throughout CGU, the technology field, and the e-learning field to enhance problem solving possibilities.
  3. Acts as technical trouble-shooter and IT liaison between GLI and CGU/Claremont Consortium IT departments.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Individual must possess knowledge, skills and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.

GLI at CGU is a small, tightly knit, highly professional operation in which all positions are interdependent. The crucial qualities in all positions are excellence, initiative, and an attitude of mutual support. All positions also require a strong sense of responsibility, outstanding communication skills, and significant flexibility.

  1. In-depth knowledge of technology-related communications platforms and programming basics for websites, social media, e-learning programs, and video and web based conferencing. Experience developing on a WordPress platform is required.
  2. HTML/CSS coding skills for developing and editing custom web applications.
  3. Advanced user of MS Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe Acrobat and Word, Slate, Zoom webinars, and Adobe Creative Suite including Premiere and Photoshop.
  4. In-depth knowledge of photography and video production, including camera functionality, sound recording, and lighting.
  5. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and projects and maintain a fluid concept of time-sensitive priorities.
  6. Balances being an effective team member while performing at a high level on own initiative and without direct supervision.
  7. Demonstrated experience in developing training and teaching modules or adult learning and professional development programs.
  8. Effective writing, editing, and communication skills for written, graphic, and video communications. Able to communicate effectively both in person and via email with a wide range of GLI at CGU constituents from program participants, museums directors, faculty, funders, partners, and co-workers.
  9. Keen attention to accuracy and detail, with strong design sense and layout abilities.
  10. Inquisitive and analytical with a problem-solver attitude.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in IT, Media, Graphic Design, or other field or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Minimum of five years experience coordinating or managing online training and digital information initiatives. Experience in online higher education or adult education and/or museum or leadership fields is a plus. Regular hours are 8:30am-5:00pm. Hours may vary due to the needs of GLI at CGU. Hours can increase to 60-80 hours per week during peak program and production periods. Candidates should be flexible in their approach to work plans and willing to accommodate seasonal program demands. Must possess a valid CA driver’s license and meet CGU’s authorized driver requirements. This position is dependent upon funding.
