The Director is responsible for overseeing recruitment activities for all academic programs offered at the internationally-known Drucker School of Management as well as its primary academic partners — Sotheby’s Institute of Art, the Institute of Mathematical Sciences, and the Center for Information Systems & Technology. The Director will work closely with the university’s chief enrollment officers to lead the implementation and evaluation of the entire recruitment function for these units; serve as the Drucker School’s chief recruitment officer and enrollment spokesperson; and identify and adjust strategies and procedures to enhance recruitment results across all units.

Central to this position is the need to work collaboratively with the Dean of the Drucker School and Directors of affiliated programs to create a cohesive recruitment strategic plan for assigned programs that integrates school and university strategic enrollment goals. The incumbent will be part of the senior leadership team of the Drucker School that ensures the programs offered by the Drucker School are competitive and meet the needs of the market.

This position reports to the Dean of Admissions or designee and ensures that all recruitment goals set by the University and School Deans and Directors are met. The regular hours for this position are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Hours may vary due to needs of the university, School, or department(s) and will include occasional evenings and weekends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Recruitment Management

  1. Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders across academic units to ensure that recruiting strategies align with program offerings and market demand.
  2. Actively lead school-based enrollment projections and aggressive funnel management activities aligned with University enrollment management practices.
  3. Serve as part of the senior leadership team of the Drucker School to ensure Drucker program offerings are competitive and meet market demand.
  4. Work with senior leadership at the Drucker School to implement policy to assure candidates have the necessary skills to be successful in their programs; to assess competitor and market demand; and to collect and share data needed to support department and rankings surveys.
  5. Strategize on opportunities to connect rankings (for MBA, EMBA and Financial Engineering in particular) to recruitment plans and to enhance rankings by addressing areas of opportunity tied to admissions data within those rankings.
  6. Ensure that all website content related to programs and admissions are updated and accurate.
  7. Monitor recruitment travel and associated expenditures to create annual reports that evaluate recruitment effectiveness. Calculate ROI from targeted outreach events; provide creative and cost-effective ideas to increase innovation in recruitment strategies.
  8. Work in active partnership with International Recruitment, International Services and the International Scholars Program to implement an aggressive international recruitment strategy in support of the high international enrollment affiliated with this portfolio of programs.
  9. Develop strong relationships with faculty and staff to support them in recruitment and enrollment efforts.
  10. Proactively promotes Drucker programs as dual degree options to current CGU students in other academic units.
  11. Facilitate collaborative working sessions with faculty as well as academic and administrative leadership in enrollment and marketing, to identify and prioritize key selling messages, identify audience segments including recent graduates, the fully-employed, and potential executive education partners. Develop recruitment plans and marketing communications that attract those audiences.
  12. Cultivate on–going relationships with other departments – particularly financial aid and marketing, current students, and feeder schools.
  13. Assist in the development and support of diversity recruitment efforts and initiate relationships with student and community organizations to help achieve diversity objectives.
  14. Serve as a contributing representative on the University’s Strategic Partnership team and help move the university’s partnership vision forward, particularly in the area of enrollment cohorts and partnerships; accelerated program partnerships; and executive education and training.
  15. Proactively identify and engage business and organizational leaders as part of the institutional effort to promote graduate programs and enrollment-centric partnerships.
  16. Lead efforts within assigned units to support high-level use of the CRM (Slate) and SIS (PeopleSoft) in tracking analytics and creating and assessing metrics to support a data-driven and technically skilled recruiting team.

Supervision and Training

  1. Hire and supervise high-performing recruiters to work cohesively as a team to drive prospects through the recruiting cycle.
  2. Work with the Director of Admissions to develop and implement a successful on-boarding and training program for recruiters, admissions employees and student workers.
  3. Lead the entire cycle of the recruiting process while evaluating the team’s workload to guarantee optimal recruitment activity.
  4. Moderate team meetings as assigned.

Recruitment

  1. Serve as one of the lead recruiters for the Drucker School’s growing suite of management and specialized master’s programs. Program assignment will be dependent on the incumbent’s experience.
  2. Meet personal enrollment goals in assigned Drucker program(s) and oversee other recruiters in affiliated programs in meeting their enrollment goals in their designated programs.
  3. Coordinate and participate in campus recruiting activities such as presentations, career fairs, webinars, info sessions, office and campus interviews, Grad Fairs, conferences and other platforms as needed domestically and internationally.
  4. Assist in identifying, evaluating and selecting successful new students.
  5. Ensure accuracy of data for prospects, inquiries, and applicants.
  6. Evaluate admitted students for departmental and endowed fellowship programs and financial awards.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field, Master’s degree preferred or any combination of education and experience that provides the required skills and ability. Demonstrated program or project management experience, as well as supervisory experience. Minimum of five years in university admissions and recruitment or a similar recruitment setting. Willingness to travel as needed both domestically and internationally.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATES:
Must possess a valid passport and California Driver’s License and meet CGU’s authorized driver’s requirements.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Direct supervision of members of the admissions recruitment team as determined by the Dean of Admissions.
