Claremont Graduate University and the Office of Alumni Engagement invite you to our new Alumni Speaker Series. Join us as we honor the accomplishments of John Husing (PhD ’71) and hear of the journey that led him through decades of studying the economy of the Inland Empire.

Husing is a research economist who has specialized in the study of Southern California’s growing economy since 1964. He has produced economic development strategies for the city and county governments. He serves as the chief economist for the Inland Empire Economic Partnership.

Husing’s analytical work includes extensive interviews with executives and entrepreneurs to understand the forces shaping Southern California. His firm, Economics & Politics, Inc., based in Redlands, has produced project-specific economic impact studies for transportation and water agencies, housing developers, environmental entities and the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
