As part of our seminar series on systematic and evolutionary botany, members of Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden’s Research Group will be giving a series of short talks and poster presentations on their most recent scientific findings:
• Dr. J. Mark Porter: Range-wide phylogenomics of Opuntia basilaris (Cactaceae)
• Dr. Naomi Fraga: Characterizing the flora of desert springs in the Mojave Desert to conserve ecological islands in an arid sea
• Keir Morse: Taxonomy and conservation of the genus Malacothamnus (Malvaceae)
Seminars are open to all – please check in at the Kiosk and tell Admissions staff that you are here for the seminar. You will be admitted at no charge and directed to the venue. Out of respect for seminar speakers and to limit disruptions, guests of the Botany Seminar Series will not be admitted to the Garden after 4:10 pm.
