CGU Art Opening Reception – ROLAND REISS: Return to Painting

Claremont Graduate University Art Department is pleased to present an exhibition of paintings by professor emeritus Roland Reiss (1929-2020). ‘Roland Reiss – Return to Painting’ includes a wide selection of twenty paintings spanning the years 1992 to 1996. The exhibition is organized by David Pagel, Jorin Bossen, Kim Alexander, and with the generous support of Dawn Arrowsmith.

Roland Reiss was chair of the C.G.U. MFA program from 1971 to 2001. His paintings and sculpture are included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA), Los Angeles, CA; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the Orange County Museum of Art (OCMA), the University of California Irvine Institute and Museum for California Art, Irvine, CA, the Hammer Museum (UCLA) among others.
