Carrie Downey, Political Science PhD student
She is a practicing regulatory attorney with a Juris Doctorate. Carrie is currently an adjunct professor at USD law school where she has taught Energy Law & Policy for 10 years. She served 12 years as an elected Coronado City Council member and her research focus is on state and local government including California energy policies.

She focuses on understanding the processes and mechanisms that facilitate optimal development from birth to emerging adulthood in the school context. Of particular interest to her work are autonomous contexts and self-directed learning skills. How do do these develop? Under what conditions? Who benefits from them most? Why?
Impactful Community Outreach

Through her role as the Chapter President of Drucker Net Impact, Annie has led CGU students in giving back to our local community. She was also on the leadership board of the Women In Leadership Association (WILA) promoting support and empowerment to our student body.
