Opportunity to meet Ms. Valentine Gelman, Senior Vice President of Advancement at the Music Center, right here at Claremont Graduate University!
Ms. Gelman will speak and give a presentation titled “Leadership in the Arts: Leveraging your strengths and building skills beyond performing” for CGU students, staff, and faculty. This event will be hosted by MUS270 performance forum class “Guest Artist Series”.
Valentine Gelman is Senior Vice President of Advancement at The Music Center. She serves as a visible ambassador and leads an ambitious, sustainable development program focusing on increasing contributed revenue for The Music Center. She also maximizes the organization’s position with current supporters as well as in new markets and builds a robust culture of philanthropy to secure transformational funding for renovations, endowment, and program expansion. Valentine Gelman came to the Music Center from Cambridge in America where she held several senior positions. She managed American alumni leaders and volunteers to develop support for Cambridge University’s $2 billion 800th anniversary capital campaign and was responsible for ensuring top U.S. donors are fully engaged in Cambridge’s fundraising initiatives. Prior to Cambridge, Valentine began her career at the Juilliard School as an arts administrator and went on to work with major international soloists and orchestras at Columbia Artists Management and International Artists Group. Valentine received her BA in communications from Wheaton College and her MA in organizational psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.
