In this discussion, Darrell Moore, CGU cultural studies professor and Joshua Mendez, doctural student in cultural studies and religion will talk about how freedom, as a concept and ideal, is much more often than not valued as an absolute good of modernity. Even though most claim freedom as an inalienable right, we participate in an ongoing struggle over its conceptual meaning and its force as an ideal. Genealogies of Freedom will be a discussion of the layered and complex dynamic that is freedom, accounting for its disparate practices and expressions over time and across space.
This event is free and open to all 7C students.
Refreshments will be served.
