Visiting Artist Lecture: Gisela Colón

We are honored to welcome Gisela Colón as our next guest in the Visiting Artist Lecture Series. Born in Vancouver, Canada, and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Colón is an American contemporary artist renowned for her innovative sculptural practice termed “Organic Minimalism.”

Utilizing advanced materials such as optical acrylics and aerospace-grade carbon fiber, she creates dynamic, light-activated sculptures that challenge and expand the traditional Minimalist canon. Colón’s work has been exhibited internationally, including prominent venues like the Mint Museum and the Pyramids of Giza. Her art is held in esteemed collections such as the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the Pérez Art Museum Miami. Currently based in Los Angeles, Colón continues to explore the intersections of art, science, and perception.

Join us as she shares insights into her creative process and the evolving narratives within her work.
