Week-Long Summer Dissertation Boot Camp | July 13 – 17, 2020

How is it different from the weekend boot camp?
Along with meeting for five days, rather than a weekend, Summer Dissertation Boot Camp participants benefit from a number of other features, including guest faculty and peer speakers addressing issues such as the writing process and staying motivated, as well as group discussions, 30 hours of quiet writing time and a reward for your effort.

Can I come?
Like the weekend Boot Camp, there is an application process for the week-long Boot Camp, but it requires submission of a detailed work plan and confirmation from your advisor that you have discussed your plan with them. Only current CGU students who are ABD may apply. Proposal and Master’s thesis students are not eligible for this camp.

How do I apply?
Eligible students must submit an application which includes a brief statement on how you hope to benefit from the Boot Camp and a detailed Writing Plan for the week.

You should discuss your proposed writing goals with your dissertation advisor.
Your advisor must email the CWR (write@cgu.edu) with a copy of your writing plan to confirm that s/he has discussed it with you. Your application will not be considered complete until we receive confirmation from your advisor.

Incomplete applications will not be considered. If you are accepted to the week-long Boot Camp and you fail to attend any part of it, a fee of $100 will be charged to your student account.
