English Professor Eric Bulson scripts James Joyce video
When bestselling nonfiction writer Alain de Botton (How Proust Can Change Your Life) decides to introduce viewers to James Joyce with a video about the Irish novelist and poet, he doesn’t use his own words.
He uses Eric Bulson’s.
A member of Claremont Graduate University’s English faculty whose specialty includes international modernism, Bulson penned the Joyce script, which is part of a series on great writers of world literature from the cultural website The School of Life.
Bulson, who previously taught at Columbia and Yale universities before joining CGU, is the author of numerous books and articles on literary modernism, including The Cambridge Introduction to James Joyce (Oxford University Press) and Novels, Maps, Modernity: The Spatial Imagination, 1850-2000 (Routledge).
