A native of the Los Angeles area, Maurice Bowers has worked as an administrative professional for over 20 years. Prior to joining Claremont Graduate University (CGU), he began his experience in higher education when hired as a program assistant for the economic development department at Chaffey College from November 2012 to December 2013. Bowers was responsible for front office operations and program compliance of the enrolled participants receiving transitional assistance from the County of San Bernardino. For nearly five years, Bowers worked for the County of San Bernardino – first serving at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (2014-2016) as a second level office assistant for the materiel management department, which operates as the supply chain system for the hospital. He was later promoted to the third level office assistant serving at the County’s Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector’s office (2016-2019) as an accounts payable specialist processing the invoices for various programs and services of the 65 departments that make up the County agency.
Bowers currently serves as an admissions counselor for the online programs at CGU, which currently consist of master’s degrees in Evaluation & Applied Research as well as Information Systems & Technology. He is also an employee of the election services division of the County of Los Angeles’s Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. He has had experience in local government as an election assistant in regional logistics since May 2008.
Bowers has earned several associate degrees from Chaffey College. He is currently pursuing additional degrees from Mt. San Antonio College and a bachelor of science in applied management from Grand Canyon University.
