DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL RELATIONS, Drucker School (Revised)
JOB POSTING #913
Starting Salary: Dependent Upon Qualifications
Closing Date: Until Filled
Reports to the Dean of the Drucker School of Management and working under the joint direction of the Dean of the Drucker School and the Vice President of Advancement, the Director of External Relations will be responsible for building and maintaining long-term relationships with alumni and employers that result in increased engagement, access to practice-based learning opportunities, and enhanced student outcomes.
One of the Director’s primary responsibilities will be to identify, cultivate, and engage individuals and organizations who can positively impact the Drucker student experience. By developing partnerships that result in deeply immersive projects and activities, the Director will play a key role in supporting the School’s redesigned curriculum that features the Drucker Signature Platform program. An innovative approach to integrating Peter Drucker’s philosophies and experiential learning, the Drucker Signature Platform enables students to participate in leadership development and practice-based learning opportunities. These experiences will lead to full-time students becoming more job ready while preparing fully employed students to embrace new opportunities.
Through these relationship-building efforts, the Director will also identify internship and full-time employment opportunities that will enhance student outcomes. By serving as a key point of contact between the Drucker Office of Career Strategy and external stakeholders, the Director will partner with alumni and prospective employers to create pathways into their firms. In this process, the Director will also build relationships with high-profile contacts within the business industry and cultivate the interests, involvement and future support of prospective partners, supporters and/or donors.
Because of the small, interwoven nature of the School, the Director will work closely with the Drucker School’s Associate Dean, Associate Director for Career Strategy, and Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement as well as CGU’s Director of Alumni & Community Engagement and senior leadership, including the Vice President for Advancement. The Director will also collaborate with staff from CGU’s Career Development Office, advancement, alumni engagement, programs, and recruitment and admissions.
