Genevieve Kaplan coordinates the Kingsley & Kate Tufts Poetry Awards at Claremont Graduate University. She oversees day-to-day operations of the annual poetry awards, planning readings and events; handling social media, promotion, and advertising; and coordinating the submissions and judging processes. She engages CGU students in contemporary poetry, creating opportunities through the Kingsley & Kate Tufts Poetry Awards Blog and other poetry-related events and projects.
A poet herself, Genevieve earned an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and a PhD in Literature and Creative Writing from the University of Southern California. She teaches poetry and writing courses at local universities, runs a literary chapbook series, and works with Fourth Sundays: Poetry at the Claremont Library to bring poetry to the community.
