The Women’s Mosque of America in Los Angeles is believed to be the first female-only mosque in the U.S. The PBS program Religion & Ethics Newsweekly did an in depth story on the mosque featuring an interview with Religion Prof. Ruqayya Khan, who talks about the traditional roles of women in the mosque and what the Koran says about the subject.
