All CGU alumni who graduated in or after 2016 retain access to their cgu.edu email addresses after graduation, making it easy to stay connected with faculty, staff, and fellow alumni and enhance your networking opportunities. Career Development Office
The Career Development Office (CDO) works in partnership with CGU alumni to help them achieve their career objectives. We define our role as career consultants who provide the structure and services, including counseling appointments and specific workshops, to help students focus their search, to target appropriate employers, to implement their job search strategies, and to build skills in self-marketing.
Alumni are invited to participate in self-assessment, career exploration, and proactive job search strategies to ensure a successful transition from graduate school to a fulfilling career.

Preparing Future Faculty
The Preparing Future Faculty (PFF) program offers professional development opportunities for those interested in developing teaching skills and the capacity to lead others in learning in diverse settings. PFF programs and services (with the exception of official courses) are free to all CGU alumni.
If you are an experienced teacher looking to engage with a community of like-minded professionals or preparing for a career in any setting in which you will consult, coach, and lead others in learning, you might consider taking advantage of the many workshops, resources, and consulting services that PFF offers alumni. The PFF Certificate in College Teaching helps you develop pedagogical knowledge, skills, and capacities for teaching in post-secondary settings as well as a robust teaching portfolio that will serve you well in your job search and beyond.

Loan Forgiveness and Payback Options

Library Access
Annual library borrowing cards for the Libraries of the Claremont Colleges are available to alumni at no charge. Alumni may request an alumni library card at the Honnold/Mudd Services Desk.
Center for Writing & Rhetoric
The Center for Writing & Rhetoric is committed to making writing and writing instruction an integral part of graduate education. The center is available to support alumni from all fields through individual consultations, video conferencing, online support, and workshops. It also offers Dissertation Boot Camps the second weekend of every month at which students dedicate time to crafting their dissertations and sharing tips and strategies with colleagues.

Tuition and Admission Application Discounts
Claremont Graduate University is committed to a flourishing community. It is a commitment that begins when a student is admitted, continues through graduation, and lasts throughout the alumni experience. We are excited to announce that starting in fall 2020, Claremont Graduate University is taking its commitment to flourishing and lifelong learning to another level. Alumni will be able to register for up to four units at no cost. This will give you the opportunity to hone a skill, develop a new one, or simply expand your thinking. You may take a course and earn a grade or audit one instead. The choice is yours.

Though not every school or program will participate in this inaugural effort, alumni from all disciplines are eligible.

Note: Per federal requirements, financial aid is NOT available to alumni and students in non-degree programs, such as Certificate programs.
Transcripts
Alumni may request a transcript through the Registrar’s Office.
Diplomas
Alumni who wish to order a diploma may view the procedures for obtaining replacement diplomas on the Registrar’s Office pages. Individuals who graduated from The Claremont Graduate School and those who graduated from Claremont Graduate University will receive a diploma that says “Claremont Graduate University.”
Academic Regalia
Academic regalia may be ordered by graduates of CGU by contacting Susan Navarro, General Merchandise Specialist at Huntley Bookstore, 909-607-1503.
CGU Memorabilia
A variety of CGU memorabilia, including CGU sweatshirts, coffee cups, T-shirts, license plate frames, and diploma frames can be purchased through Huntley Bookstore. Visit the Huntley Bookstore website to order merchandise online.
Discounts
As CGU alumni, you are automatically a member of the Claremont Graduate University Alumni Association and have access to insurance discounts through AAA.
