You can endow a fellowship in your name or in honor of a loved one, or choose to make an annual gift. All provide much needed tuition relief, research stipends, and other assistance.

Types of Named Fellowships
Endowed Fellowships
An endowed fellowship is part of CGU’s endowment and exists in perpetuity. The growth and earnings that accrue in a specific endowment are used to provide assistance to a deserving student(s). Distributions are determined by CGU’s payout rate as set by the Board of Trustees (currently 5%). Growth and earnings in excess of 5% are reinvested in the endowment.
Annual Fellowships
While an endowed fellowship exists in perpetuity, an annual fellowship is one that is given on a yearly basis and is not part of the University’s endowment. These fellowships are usually expended in the year the gift is made. Larger gifts may be designated to be used over a couple of years.
Black Scholars Award
The Black Scholars Award acknowledges the contributions of CGU students from throughout the African Diaspora in all degree-granting programs, including joint degree programs. This acknowledgement comes in the form of a stipend dispersed to the recipient each academic year.
