International Place of the Claremont Colleges to host 37th annual International Festival

International Place of The Claremont Colleges will host the 37th Annual International Festival on Saturday, April 11, 2015. The Festival, which brings together the world’s nations and cultures for a celebration of diversity, is open to the public from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., rain or shine. Admission and parking for the Festival are free. The day can be spent sampling authentic international cuisine and enjoying performances of music and dance from around the world. (Nominal prices to sample food and drink.)

More than 1100 international students and scholars from approximately 86 countries will present food, crafts, and entertainment from their respective countries or regions. Armenia, Brazil, China, Ecuador, France, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Peru, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Taiwan and Vietnam are among the food booths which will be represented.

This year’s entertainment features The 5C K-Pop Dance Club, Kpoppers; Mariachi Serrano, The Claremont Shades, Claremont Psycho Taiko Japanese Drumming Group and Ballet Folklorico Tierra Flor y Canto, Claremont Tamasha and Massanga Miramba. Live entertainment on the central stage will begin at 12:00 p.m.

The Festival is located on the Claremont McKenna College campus between Eighth and Ninth Streets and between Mills and Columbia Avenue.
