Prof. Jenny Darroch to lead panels at prestigious marketing conference

Jenny Darroch, professor of marketing in Claremont Graduate University’s Drucker School of Management, will travel to New York City October 6–7 to lead two panels at the premier marketing conference for mothers, M2Moms: Marketing to Moms Conference. The M2Moms conference began in 2005 and draws thousands of marketing professionals every year from Fortune 500 companies.

The first panel, “Moms and Kids Want Way Better,” will focus on the mixed messages that mothers and children receive from the media when it comes to healthy living and eating. Participants will examine how branding can successfully become a positive influence when mothers and their children make choices about brands.

The second panel, “What it Takes to be a Brand a Millennial Mom Can’t Live Without,” will explore the unique challenges that mothers face in the millennial age.

“It’s great to represent the Drucker School on the stage in front of such a high-profile audience to talk about something I am passionate about—marketing to women,” Darroch said.

Darroch specializes in marketing strategy with a particular focus in marketing to women. Her work appears in the European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Business Research, and the Journal of Business Ethics. Her recent book, Why Marketing to Women Doesn’t Work (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014) focuses on the unique challenges of marketing to women in today’s economy.
