A team of students from Claremont Graduate University's School of Community and Global Health and Peter F. Drucker and Masatoshi Ito Graduate School of Management has been invited to compete against 24 other universities in the Emory Global Health Case Competition in Atlanta, Georgia on March 31.
The competition challenges 20 multi-disciplinary teams from universities across the US and five teams from international universities to craft solutions to real-world-inspired global health challenges. Team members must be from at least three distinct academic disciplines. Graduate and undergraduate students are welcome. Top teams compete for cash prizes.
The case study topic is confidential until the case is released, but it will require a multidisciplinary approach to develop recommendations to address it. It may include issues such as health care policy, public health implementation and planning, business partnership/investment, medical research, logistics and management, faith/cultural understanding, and international law.
The students comprising CGU's team are: Jane Castañares, MBA and master of public health; Robert Garcia, master of public health; Cevadne Lee, master of public health; Chris Oakley, MBA and master of public health; Sujuth Suresh, financial engineering; and Yun Ling, financial engineering.
