Danielle Green

Danielle (Dani) Green is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Psychology Department and oversees the User Experience MA concentration. With a background in Cognitive Psychology and over a decade of experience bridging academia and industry, Green brings a unique perspective to UX education that combines rigorous research methodology with real-world application.

As a mixed methods researcher with a passion for statistics, Green’s academic journey began at CGU, where she explored how digital interfaces and physical body movements influence decision-making. This foundational work sparked her transition into UX research, where she discovered the power of applying cognitive science principles to create more effective user experiences.

Green’s teaching philosophy centers on practical application and career readiness. She is dedicated to ensuring that students—regardless of their starting point—graduate with both the theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to excel in their first UX roles.

Beyond the classroom, Green leads the Games and Interactive Technology Lab (GIT Lab), a UX laboratory at CGU. The lab connects students and staff with real-world research projects focused on games and applications that support mental health, cognitive accessibility, educational technology, and more. The GIT Lab provides over 1500 hours of UX services to non-profits and mission-driven startups every year. This hands-on laboratory experience gives students invaluable exposure to mission-driven UX work.

Green is also President of the Board of the UX Researchers’ Guild, a professional community dedicated to UX research education and connecting organizations with independent researchers. Through this role, she continues to strengthen the bridge between academic training and industry needs.

When not teaching or practicing UX Research, Green enjoys skiing and hiking in the Wasatch Mountains near her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
